Need Australian Residency? Marry a Visa Bride Scam Exposed

Luring the immigrants to secure residency in Australia by marrying visa brides for hefty amounts is used by a number of immigration agents in Australia.  The unscrupulous migration agents take advantage of situation of migrants who may not have any prospect of obtaining Australian residency.

Recently an Indian born migration agent in Australia named Mashru has been exposed by an Australian newspaper for arranging sham marriages for the sole purpose of obtaining residency in Australia.  He would entrap those clients seeking residency in Australia with only possible option being to get married with someone in Australia.

He would charge huge amounts to arrange the visa marriage.

One victim of Mashru’s deceitful tactics recalls, “Chetan said, ‘I have an option for you, if you divorce your wife’.” He was asked to pay 5000 Australian Dollars to arrange the marriage.

Mr. Mashru convinced one client to apply for skilled immigration while she only wanted to extend her study visa.  He charged her AU$1580 for filing an application which wrongly showed her to be a pharmacist.

Mr. Mashru denies all the accusations for arranging marriages for visas and claims he never applied for marriage visa.

He also refuses to admit providing any services to any of the clients mentioned above.

Instead he claimed that persons who are unable to obtain the visa they wanted would point finger at anyone.

Any person involved in facilitating wedding for visa can be imprisoned for up to 10 years and a penalty of  AU$100,000.
