Several UK visa application centers at various countries will be closed on 3 & 5 February 2012 due to Information Technology (IT) system maintenance and up gradation. This has been announced by UK Boarder agency (UKBA).
According to the UKBA website, During the maintenance of IT system, the biometric services will be suspended at specific UK visa centers on 3 & 5 February, therefore the application centers will unable to take biometric information and the UK visa applicants won’t be able to submit their visa applications.
“Due to IT maintenance our several visa application centers will be closed, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have a genuinely urgent or compassionate need to travel please contact our visa information service,” Stated on UKBA’s website.
However, the visa applications centers will remain opened for the collection of passports.
The visa application centers at following countries will be closed on Friday, 3 February 2012, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Tunisia, Gaza, Lebanon, Turkey, Kazakhstan, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, China, Indonesia, Brunei, Japan, Morocco, Cambodia, Burma, Thailand, South Korea, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia.
The visa UKBG application centers at Iraq, Jordan, Bangladesh, and Egypt, will be closed on Sunday Friday, 5 February 2012.
The UKBA has been modifying and upgrading its application centers and visa processing systems.
Meanwhile, the UKBG has recently introduced ‘priority visa’ service in Ukraine, Thailand and United Arab Emirates (UAE) visa application centers, which will enable the visitors to track their visa application by paying additional visa fees. Priority visa service is set to start from 22 January 2012.
Moreover, the UKBG is ready to commence online visa fees payment system for the nationals of Georgia, Turkey, Jordan and Hong Kong, applicants from these countries applying for UK visas will have to pay visa fees online in US dollars from 30 January 2012 onwards.
