Canada has unveiled ‘Parent and Grandparent Super Visa’ package to facilitate the reunion between the migrant Canadian nationals and their overseas families. Under this policy, a special discount will be given on the visas of parents and grandparents who aspire to visit their children in Canada and stay there for an extended period of time.
This brand of visa will be processed in less than eight weeks. The visitors will be allowed to stay with their families for at least 24 months, however, they may get this period extended by the immigration authorities.
Prior to this, parents visiting their families were allowed to stay in Canada for merely a few months, but they had to pay more fees. Now, they can enjoy long stay in fewer fees.
This move is aimed at reducing the distances between the members of families which are split between Canada and other parts of the world.
Commenting on the Super Visa, Canada’s Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, Jason Kenney, said, “With the Super Visa, we have taken a common sense approach that allows parents and grandparents to spend extended periods of time with their loved ones in Canada, while at the same time, acting responsibly in protecting Canadian taxpayers.”
This outstanding move by the Canadian immigration authorities will urge other states to adopt such type of policies which are likely to usher a new era in the arena of international immigration. This is being regarded as a great breakthrough.
Immediately after the announcement of this policy, the first ever Super Visa has been issued. The migrants, who are residing in Canada under skilled work programme or business plan, have wholeheartedly welcomed this move, hoping that they will be able to reunite with their families without paying extra fees and going through long and tough procedures.
