Canada’s minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism (CIMM), Jason Kenney has confirmed that they have issued country’s first super visa
Meanwhile, Kenney has also shown immense excitement following Canada’s first ever super visa.
“We pledged to process the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa in less than eight weeks. We’ve issued the first of the Super Visas in just two weeks and we remain committed to reuniting families through the Super Visa in a timely manner,” he stated while talking to the media.
The first super visa, which was given on December 14, 2011 at the Canadian mission in Manila, took processing time of eight weeks.
According to the super visa, the parents and grandparents of the Canadian citizen and permanent residents can obtain Canada’s visa on quick basis to visit their children and grandchildren.
Prior to super visa policy, the parents and grandparents were only able to get 6 visit months visa, and they had to renew it after every 6 month, if they wanted to extend their stay.
However, now they can stay in Canada up to 2 years without renewing their visa, which is a great relaxation indeed.
Reportedly, the new visa program is all set to facilitate 165,000 parents and grandparents, who wish to visit their loved ones living in Canada.
Coming back to Kenney’s statement, he asserted that they have lunched the super visa considering the family values.
“With the Super Visa, we have taken a common sense approach that allows parents and grandparents to spend extended periods of time with their loved ones in Canada, while at the same time, acting responsibly in protecting Canadian taxpayers. I’m pleased that the response to this program has been so positive,” he added.
In the meantime, the Canadian citizens are very happy over the successful launch of super visa, as they overwhelmingly welcomed the government’s decision which will allow them to live with their families for the longer periods without any hassle.
