New UK Visa Rules will be Implemented from April 6, 2012

It is almost time for the implementation of new UK visa rules that will effect a large number of migrants related to work and study visas. The new rules are coming into forces from April 6, 2012.

UK is introducing also a new online application and expedited visa services from Pakistan in a bid to improve the customer services.

Starting from May 1, 2012 visa application forms must be filled by all applicants and their dependents wishing to visit UK.

Adam Thomson, UK High Commissioner believes that the new online system will minimize the fraudulent activities. The UK High Commissioner said in a press release, “People-to-people links are the foundation of the strong bilateral links between the UK and Pakistan. These changes to our visa system are good for the British people and good for Pakistan. Our relationship is too important to allow fraudulent behaviour to tarnish genuine travelers.”

The British High Commission will introduce a priority visa service on April 1, 2012 available to all those applicants who are submitting application for UK visit visa; and have traveled to the UK within the last two years; and have not violated UK’s immigration laws.

It is also stated in the press release that all those applying for work or study visas (points-based applications) must do so online from April 6, 2012. From 1 May, applicants and their dependants who are applying for a UK visa must apply online.

From this date, the UK Border Agency will no longer accept manually completed paper application forms.

Pakistani should be able to benefit from these changes that will allow them to file their applications for visit, work or study without the need of the consultants.
