Major General Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri, the Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has clarified a news in the media that there is no change in the minimum salary requirements for sposoring family members. The Dirctor General also assured that new restrictions are being imposed for family member sponsorship.
Major General Mohammed Ahmad Al Marri said in a statement that any changes in the family sponsorship laws and regulations will be issued in official statement of the Ministry of Interior prior to implementation in Dubai and resto f the emirates.
He clarified that all the directorates and branches are receiving and processing applications smoothly.
“Our departments are characterized with high level of transparency in every matter that concerns clients”, Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri said. “And, this is our methodology and approach in the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai.”
Article No. 31 regarding sponsorship of the wife by an expatriate husband the minimum monthly income of the sponsor should not be less than Dh3,000 plus accommodation offered by the employer. In case no accommodation is offered, minimum monthly salary is Dh4,000. In order to demonstrate that sponsor meets the minimum income requirements, salary certificate attested by the concerned authorities should be submitted with the application to sponsor family member.
In case expatriate women want to sponsor their family members, same minimum income requirements apply. They also must meet the other requirements just as the expatriate men to sponsor family members to live with them in Dubai.
