Indian officials in Abu Dhabi have made arrangement for the Indian nationals who want to take advantage of the amnesty announced by UAE immigration department for illegal residents to submit applications for emergency certificates at BLS International centers. Indian nationals seeking amnesty can also apply for the new Indian passport or can get the expired passport renewed through BLS International. All the 14 centers across UAE will be accepting the applications during the normal working hours. However, Indians with valid passports are advised to contact the local immigration department directly to take advantage of the amnesty scheme.
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has announced setting up of facilitation centers to assist the Indian nationals wishing to benefit from the amnesty scheme. The service centres of BLS International will be providing services to Indian nationals from December 4, 2012 to February 3, 2013 for Indian passports and visa services.
The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has issued the following statement this Tuesday, November 27, 2012:
“To assist the Indian nationals wishing to return to India during the amnesty period from December 4, 2012 to February 3, 2013, the Embassy of India, Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General of India, Dubai have set up facilitation centres for collection of applications and dispatch or delivery of Emergency Certificates [out-pass] at the 14 BLS Centres across the UAE. These centres will accept out-pass applications during normal working hours from 8am to 6.30pm. Those who have valid passports may approach local immigration authorities directly for regularisation of stay or exit formalities.”
Indian nationals have been advised to provide the copy of the passport along with a copy of visa with the application. However, those who do not have passport must submit the passport details and copy of visa for the processing of their application.
Following documents are acceptable as proof of identity in case the Indian national has neither passport copy nor its details:
- Voter identity card,
- ration card with photograph,
- Indian driving licence,
- nativity certificate issued by the district collector or superintendent of police forwarded directly to the embassy or consulate.
BLS Intentional will charge Dh9 in addition to the fee of Dh60 as service charges.
