In Lithuania, a businessperson who starts a company with a minimum capital share value of €4000 is eligible to apply for Lithuania’s resident permit. The individual then deposit €12000 in the company’s bank account and maintain the control of the investment all the time. The total investment of €16000 is much lower than what is required for other countries such as UK, Canada or USA. The businessperson’s spouse and dependents can also obtain the permanent residency after five years.
After holding the Lithuania’s residence permit for five years, it is possible to apply for permanent residency and then Lithuania citizenship.
Lithuania is fast becoming a popular destination for business people because of the following key factors:
Lithuania with an area of 65,300 square kilometers is the largest of the three Baltic States situated in Northern Europe. Lithuania is surrounded by Latvia in the North, Belarus in the east, Poland in the south-west, Russia (Kaliningrad) and Baltic Sea in the west. Thus, a number of European countries are easily accessible from Lithuania.
Lithuania’s Temporary or Permanent Residence Permit holders can live and work in the Schengen Area as Lithuania is member of the border-less visa free treaty among 26 countries. Lithuania is also member of European Union since 2004 opening a vast horizon of endless opportunities for the residents of Lithuania.
Residents of Lithuania enjoy low costs of food, clothing and entertainment. The country has developed infrastructure and prospering economy making it good location for expanding business at global level. The availability of good medical treatment and educational system with high standards of education also makes Lithuania a better place to live and raise family.
Lithuania is connected to other European countries and the world through seaport, railways, highways and air transportation making it easier for a business to export the products world wide.
Skilled workers with language proficiency in a number of languages such as French, German, Russian and English etc are easily available for businesses providing the business owner opportunity to conduct business with countries where English is not the first language.
The minimum capital investment required to obtain the resident permit of Lithuania is €16000 which is many folds lower than a number of other countries, however, the businessperson has the similar opportunities to expand the business on global level due to possibility of visa free travel in Schengen Area, easy access to global markets and availability of highly skilled labour force.
