New Embassy of Oman Inaugurated in Belgium

Belgium Foreign Minister Didier Reynders has said that Belgium and Oman have very good relations since decades while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the new premises of the embassy of the Sultanate of Oman in Brussels. Oman’s Foreign Ministry Secretary General Sayyid Bader  bin Hamad Al Busaidy was also present at the occasion.

The new embassy of the Sultanate of Oman is situated on the Roosevelt Avenue in Brussels. The embassies of the GCC, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia are also located in the same street.

“We are working on different agreements with Oman and I hope we will be able to sign and ratify the new agreements about investment, double taxations, etc. in the near future,” Reynders said. He  added, “We have very good relations with the Sultanate of Oman since decades and we try to enhance them.”

The Minister also admired the good relationship with the Gulf countries in trade and other regional issues. He said that it was important that the solution to any regional issue such as trouble in Syria must have the support of regional organizations.

Mr. Al Busaidy said,  “we are very happy to be here in Brussels to inaugurate the new premises of the mission of Sultanate of Oman which will strengthen the embassy’s role not only on bilateral ties with Belgium but also with the European Union”.

Oman’s ambassador to the EU and Belgium Sheikh Ghazi Al Rawas  said that the opening of the new embassy was a signal that Oman aimed to “enhance its relations with Belgium and the European Union”
