Philippines Allows Visa Free Entry for Indian Visitors

Philippines will allow Indian nationals meeting certain conditions to enter the country for a maximum period of 21 days without securing visa from a visa office in India in a bid to attract more tourist influx to boost the tourism industry.

Indian government already had included Filipinos in the Tourist visa on arrival programme since the year 2011 granting them a maximum stay of 30 days in India.

In order to avail the visa free entry in Philippines, the Indian nationals must meet the following conditions:

  • Must have a valid visa from European Union member country OR a valid visa from United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Singapore, and United Kingdom
  • the passport must be valid for at least six months
  • must have a return ticket OR an onward ticket to the next country of destination
  • must be free from any criminal record with the Bureau of Immigration, National Intelligence and Coordinating Agency and Interpol.

Under the new visa free regime, Indian travelers will not require to obtain a valid visa from a visa office in India near to their residence.

When the Indian national meeting all the requirements for visa free entry will arrive in Philippines, entry for 14 days will granted. The time duration of stay can be extended for 7 more days, however, the total stay cannot be more than 21 days.

Well that is not all, Indian nationals who will enter Philippines availing this visa free privilege cannot apply to change their status to another visa category.

The only entry point to Philippines for Indian nationals under the visa exemption scheme is Ninoy Aquino International AirportĀ  in Manilla.

One Response to Philippines Allows Visa Free Entry for Indian Visitors

  1. Last August I visited Philippines with valid Visa. My ticket was to Luzon. And immigration officers questioned me almost one hour. They checked how I bought ticket, which internet payment option I used, why I used that to buy ticket, which credit card i used, etc. They called AirAsia Airhostess and started asking her also about the payment gateways. Then they wanted to see my company ID card, I was in tourist visa, so I was not taken company ID card. I showed them my Passport, Driving Licence and Election ID card. I told them if I am not eligible why Philippines Embassy in India given me Visa? They answered Immigration is not Embassy. When I lost interest to visit Philippines again, they left me!
