The Thai nationals residing in Thailand wishing to travel to Japan will be able to obtain multiple entry visas effective June 1, 2012.
The validity of the multiple entry visa will be up to a maximum of 3 years allowing the visa holder visit Japan for 15 days extendable up to maximum of 90 days.
Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shnwatr had discussed the measures to enhance the bilateral business activities by relaxing the entry visa requirements for the nationals of the both countries. The summit meeting took place in Japan earlier this year on March 07.
The statement issued by the Japanese embassy in Thailand has announced the multiple entry visa option for Thai nationals living the country.
The statement said, “We hope that implementation of the new multiple entry visa will increase the number of Thai visitors to Japan, enhance business convenience and strengthen cooperation between both countries.”
The multiple entry visa is for Thai nationals living in Thailand. The Thai nationals who have already visited Japan as temporary visitor seeking multiple entry visa must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:
