Deport us if you Dare – Illegal Migrant Teenagers in USA

Illegal immigrants aged between 13 to 16 publically admitting in Chicago about their illegal immigration status in United States in a bid to push for passage of law that will allow them to stay in the country legally have motivated others to organize such demonstrations in cities across the country.

The events are called “Coming Out of the Shadows” with a clear message “Deport us if you dare”.

Though none of the young illegal migrants involved in such demonstration have been deported, but the participants believe that when fellow Americans observe that illegal immigrants have been living with them as their neighbours or friends, then it may change their perspective about illegal migrants.

These demonstrators came to United States with their illegal migrant parents. As they do not have any status in the country, if they want to get admission in a university for higher education, they have to pay international student’s tuition fees. The higher study costs can not be afforded by many illegal migrants.

These teenagers may be able to avoid deportation, however, if the long awaiting law to legalize their stay in United States is not passed soon, their wishful struggle may not end up as they desire.
